Manifestations of amnesia

Amnesia is a temporary impairment in the brain’s ability to think, resulting in a short period of memory loss, and the symptoms generally disappear naturally over time. Functional amnesia refers to a problem with the memory function of the cerebral cortex, but this memory impairment is a dysfunction caused by overworking of the brain, and there are no damaging changes in brain tissue structure, so it is functional, temporary and reversible. In contrast, organic amnesia is caused by neurological lesions in the brain, such as brain tumors, traumatic brain injury, encephalitis, acute and chronic poisoning, etc. Memory impairment is generally more difficult to recover. The amnesia we are discussing here is mainly a functional lesion, in which memory loss is often accompanied by easy dizziness during the day, poor sleep at night, insomnia, dreaminess, easy wakefulness with accompanying symptoms, as well as mental disorders such as irritability, nervousness, and even depressive tendencies. Amnesia is a common symptom, especially in patients with various physical and mental disorders and mood disorders. It is generally reversible and can be relieved with active adjustment and treatment for the cause, but amnesia that cannot be recovered for a long time must be diagnosed at a professional medical institution to exclude organic lesions.
