Nosebleed is not fire, it belongs to the category of epistaxis (nosebleed) in Chinese medicine, which may be related to the overabundance of fire-heat in the body that breaks the blood. Epistaxis is a condition mainly characterized by nose bleeding. Epistaxis can be categorized into two main types: deficiency and actual symptoms. For solid epistaxis, it is mostly caused by fire-heat and Qi reversal, forcing the blood to act presumptuously; for deficiency epistaxis, it is mostly caused by yin deficiency and fire exuberance (deficiency of yin and essence in the body, resulting in hyperactivity of deficiency fire) or failure of Qi to regulate the blood. Lung meridian wind-heat: manifested as bleeding in the nose, dripping down, bright red color, not very much, dry nasal cavity, burning sensation. It is often accompanied by nasal congestion, yellow snot, cough with little sputum and dry mouth, and can be treated with the addition or subtraction of Sang Ju Drink. Gastric heat blazing: manifested as bleeding from the nose, with large amount, bright red or deep red color, and the nasal mucosa is deep red and dry. It is often accompanied by thirst for drinking, bad breath, red, swollen, swollen gums, erosion and bleeding, constipation, short and reddish urine (small amount of urine, dark yellow in color), which can be treated with the addition and subtraction of Liang Diaphragm San. Yin deficiency and fire exuberance: epistaxis is red in color, not much in quantity, occurring and stopping, and the nasal mucosa is pale red and dry. Accompanied by dry mouth with little fluid, dizziness and blurred vision, five heartburns and heat (heat in the heart of the hands and feet, and self-consciousness of the heart and chest being irritated and hot), forgetfulness and insomnia, lumbar and knee soreness and tenderness (feeling of soreness and tenderness in the lumbar region and knee region), or zygomatic redness and night sweating (sweating abnormally after falling asleep, but stopping after waking up), it can be treated with Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan with additional subtractions. If the patient has nosebleeds and other nasal discomfort, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and take medication under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner to identify the symptoms, do not take medication on your own in order to avoid delays in the condition or adverse reactions.
