Nursing review of humerus fractures

For patients with humerus fracture, during nursing checkups, attention must be paid to the movement, sensation and blood flow of the hand to determine whether there is any neurovascular injury caused by the fracture. During the nursing checkup, the patient should be instructed to do the exercise of finger extension and fist making, in order to prevent the upper limb muscle atrophy caused by long time inactivity, and long time inactivity is also easy to lead to the finger joints and wrist joints to have adhesion and contracture, which affects the joints’ activities in the later stage. In nursing checkups, patients must be instructed to suspend the affected limb in front of the chest when moving down to the ground, and to elevate the affected limb parallel to the chest when lying down, which is conducive to venous reflux, subsidence of swelling and recovery of fracture.
