Acupuncture points for knee pain

Acupuncture points around the knee, such as Liangqiu, Blood Sea, Yinlingquan, Yanglingquan, and Foot Sanli, are usually used to treat knee pain.
1. Liangqiu: on the foot Yangming stomach meridian, in the anterior femoral area, 2 inches above the patellar base, between the lateral femoral muscle and rectus femoris tendon. It can be used to treat knee swelling and pain, lower limb paralysis and other conditions.
2. Sea of Blood: on the Foot Taiyin-Spleen Meridian, in the anterior femoral area, 2 inches above the medial end of the patellar base, at the elevation of the medial femoral (inner thigh) muscle. It can be used to treat medial knee and femoral pain.
3. Yinlingquan: on the Foot Taiyin-Spleen Meridian, on the medial side of the lower leg, in the depression between the lower edge of the medial tibial condyle and the medial edge of the tibia. It can be used to treat knee pain and lower limb impotence paralysis (weakness, numbness and pain in the lower limbs).
4. Yanglingquan: on the foot Shaoyang bile meridian, on the lateral side of the lower leg, in the depression below the front of the head of the fibula. It can be used to treat lower limb impotence paralysis, knee and patella swelling and pain and other tendon diseases.
5. Foot Sanli: on the foot Yangming stomach meridian, on the lateral side of the calf, 3 inches below the calf’s nose, on the line between calf’s nose and Xiexi. It can be used for knee pain, lower limb impotence paralysis, stroke hemiplegia and other lower limb diseases.
