Low back pain mainly refers to pain or discomfort in the lumbar and sacral regions of the back, which may or may not be accompanied by radiating pain in the lower extremities, and is a common clinical disorder. The prevalence of low back pain in developed countries in Europe and America is 75~85% in a lifetime, and the prevalence is about 30%. Due to the high pressure of modern life, long working hours, long-term poor working posture and the influence of living environment, the incidence of this disease is on the rise, and gradually increases with age. The high incidence and easy recurrence of low back pain have seriously affected the life and working ability of patients, and it has become a serious social and economic problem worldwide, and the medical profession has listed it as a key research topic. Modern medicine considers low back pain as a symptom caused by a variety of diseases, such as injury or lesion of the muscles, ligaments and joints of the lumbar region, postural imbalance caused by any cause and certain internal diseases can cause low back pain. From the summary of a large number of clinical research data, Western medicine mostly uses bed rest, physical therapy, western medicine, functional exercise, surgery and psychotherapy. Bed rest is the most common treatment method in clinical practice. Physiotherapy is the stimulation of the body by different physical factors to promote local vasodilatation to improve blood supply and thus play a therapeutic role, including electrotherapy, light therapy and paraffin therapy, etc. The therapy itself is non-invasive and easy for patients to accept. The main clinical drugs used in western medicine treatment are non-residual anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, etc. These drugs mainly control inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis and cyclooxygenase activity, thus reducing pain symptoms, but such drugs are more stimulating to the gastrointestinal tract, and long-term use can cause gastrointestinal cancer. Functional exercise refers to educating patients on strength and laser disc decompression, etc. Open surgery refers to the fusion of the corresponding lumbar vertebrae after removal of the disc, but the clinical efficacy varies widely and is not the preferred treatment for low back pain. According to Chinese medicine, low back pain refers to stretching exercises, and studies have been conducted to confirm that exercises under the guidance of a physician over a period of time are beneficial for the treatment of this disease. Minimally invasive procedures in surgical treatment include radiofrequency ablation of intervertebral discs, percutaneous lumbar sensation of external evil, or due to trauma, or due to kidney deficiency caused by imbalance in the operation of qi and blood, fine and urgent veins, and loss of nourishment of the lumbar mansion caused by a class of conditions with pain on one or both sides of the lumbar area as the main symptom. Traditional Chinese medicine mostly adopts traditional conservative treatment methods, which are commonly used such as traction, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, herbal medicine and closed treatment, or different treatment methods are used in conjunction with each other, which can achieve good clinical results. Acupuncture is the main treatment for low back pain in traditional Chinese medicine. Acupuncture is used to promote the metabolism of the cells of the nervous system, adjust the mechanics of the human spine, improve the microcirculation of the nerves and eliminate the local inflammatory reaction of the nerves to achieve therapeutic purposes. In the selection of acupuncture points, there are different points for dialectical selection, local selection and meridian-tracking, which are easier and safer to operate than other treatment methods, without side effects and with significant efficacy.
