There are individual differences in the time to exclude the sequelae of epidural hemorrhage, and most patients can exclude the sequelae of surgery within one month after active surgical treatment.
For patients with epidural hematoma, early medical and surgical treatment to remove the hematoma completely, most of the patients can get good expected results. After surgery, patients gradually become conscious and recover well, and sequelae such as hemiparesis and aphasia rarely occur.
A few patients have slower recovery and may need roughly 1 month of observation and treatment to avoid delayed sequelae, and can be discharged when their condition stabilizes. Only patients with bleeding, poor physical condition and more underlying diseases may still have sequelae after one month or more, affecting patients’ quality of life.
Patients are advised to choose regular hospitals for epidural hemorrhage surgery to minimize the probability of sequelae.
