Periappendiceal abscess can be treated with laparoscopic surgery

Experience: In the past 2 years, we have used laparoscopy to deal with 10 cases of periappendiceal abscess, all of which were successfully treated laparoscopically by removing pus, necrotic tissue, performing appendectomy and local drainage in 7-14 days and discharged from the hospital cured at a cost about 50% more than simple appendectomy. The root of the appendix can be found, appendix removed and ligated from the end of the operation. In fact, it is usually found in surgery: gangrenous appendicitis with gangrenous perforation of the appendix root is rare, and most of them are gangrenous perforation due to fecal stone embedded in the middle or distal part. With this pathological and anatomical basis, it shows that the appendix formed by periappendiceal abscess can still be resected and ligated in one stage, and the incidence of intestinal fistula is low, the treatment time is short, and the cost is not high.
