The exact location of Shenggu acupoint is on the dorsum of the foot, between the 2nd and 3rd metatarsal bones, in the depression proximal to the 2nd metatarsophalangeal joint. Shenggu acupoint belongs to the Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian and is mainly used to treat facial swelling, edema, swelling and pain on the back of the foot, intestinal sounding and abdominal pain. In modern times, it is often used to treat ptosis, facial edema, conjunctivitis, ascites, edema, intestinal pain, hernia, hysteria, pyrexia, night sweating (sweating abnormally after going to sleep, but stopping after waking up), and heel pain. Clinically, Shenggu acupoint can treat edema with Liejiu acupoint, Carpal bone acupoint, Hegu acupoint, Maijie acupoint, Yanglingquan acupoint, Yingu acupoint, and Foot Sanli acupoint; and with Shimen acupoint to treat fullness in the chest and ribs (chest and ribs area).
