Implementing quality care for patients undergoing spinal cervical spine surgery plays an important role in their recovery. Postoperative patient care for cervical spine can be divided into two parts: inpatient care and post-discharge care. I. Nursing care during hospitalization 1. Postoperative monitoring. Closely observe the patients’ vital signs, especially observe the patients’ respiratory rate, respiratory secretions and throat edema, etc., to prevent respiratory difficulties, if necessary, use nebulized inhalation therapy, which is conducive to the elimination of sputum and reduces the incidence of respiratory tract infection. 2. Drainage tube care. Record the amount and color of the fluid in the drainage tube every day, and generally remove the drainage tube by the doctor 24 hours after the operation. 3. Neck braking. Wear a neck brace after surgery, lie flat with the pillow removed, and pay attention to axial turning. After removing the drainage tube, you can go down to the ground, and you should wear a neck brace when you go down to the ground. 4. Physical examination. The patient returns to the ward after surgery. Immediately check the sensation and movement of upper and lower limbs, and find out whether there is any nerve damage in time. 5. Functional exercise. After the patient’s condition is stabilized after surgery, instruct the patient to do functional exercise of upper limbs. Discharge rehabilitation After being discharged from the hospital, advise the patient to wear a neck brace to go out as much as possible to protect the neck, continue the functional exercise of the upper limbs and hands, and further carry out more precise activity training. Pay attention to the muscle training of the lower limbs to prevent complications such as venous thrombosis of the lower limbs caused by bed rest, and go to the hospital for regular review. Postoperative care for spinal cord cervical spondylosis is very important and should be carried out in accordance with the doctor’s instructions. If there is any discomfort, consult the doctor for review in time.
