Diabetes is not scary

Diabetes is a serious disease and can be scary when there are serious complications. If blood sugar is not effectively controlled, a variety of complications can occur, such as diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic lactic acidosis, cerebrovascular accidents and acute coronary syndrome, which can easily cause death or disability. Cardiovascular complications can also leave sequelae such as heart failure and hemiplegia. Diabetic fundopathy can lead to blindness or vision loss, lower limb vascular occlusion, which can lead to toe necrosis, and diabetic nephropathy can induce uremia, renal insufficiency and other changes. These complications can seriously affect the patient’s ability to work and live, resulting in a reduced quality of life. Once diagnosed with diabetes, oral medications or insulin injections should be used to control blood sugar in a timely manner to reduce the incidence of complications.
