Is it normal to bleed in the stool after hemorrhoid surgery?

A small amount of bleeding in the stool after hemorrhoid surgery is normal; a large amount of acute bleeding requires medical attention. It may be caused by wound infection, wear and tear, or it may be caused by dry stools or problems with the dressing and suture.
1. Wound infection: If wound infection occurs, dressings should be changed and disinfected in time, and topical gentamicin cream or erythromycin ointment should be used to reduce inflammation and antibacterial treatment.
2. Stool dryness: if bleeding occurs due to wound abrasion caused by dry stools, the wound should be further sutured, compression or suture of blood vessels to stop bleeding, usually drink more water and eat more dietary fiber food to improve the dryness of stools.
3. Surgical suture: after hemorrhoid surgery, the ligation line will fall off in about seven days, the process will have a small amount of bleeding, which is normal. If there is a lot of bleeding and acute bleeding after the internal hemorrhoidal ligation line comes off, the residual end of the internal hemorrhoid is not healing well, resulting in hemorrhoidal artery bleeding, requiring immediate surgical hemostasis to avoid causing hemorrhagic shock.
After hemorrhoid surgery, bleeding in the stool, serious cases are recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible, to clarify the cause of the disease, and to carry out targeted hemostatic treatment, so as not to delay the condition. Drugs should be applied under the guidance of a doctor.
