A strong odor in women often refers to a strong odor from vaginal discharge. The most common cause of smelly vaginal discharge is due to bacterial vaginosis. It is advisable to take the discharge clinically and do routine laboratory tests of the leucorrhoea. If bacterial vaginosis is present, treatment with metronidazole can be given. It is also recommended to keep the vulva clean in daily life. After the clinical symptoms disappear after metronidazole treatment and the laboratory tests are negative, lactobacillus capsules can be inserted into the vagina to improve the local resistance and regulate the normal vaginal flora. If the odor is strong, cervical cancer and endometrial cancer should be excluded, and cervical cancer screening or diagnostic scraping should be done if necessary.
