The 5-dose method of rabies vaccine is limited to 1 dose per vaccination, and the 211 method of rabies vaccination program allows for 2 doses for the first time. Rabies vaccine is a vaccine that is administered after a suspected exposure to the rabies virus with a primary role of prevention. Currently, there are 2 options available for rabies vaccination procedures in China. One is the five-dose method, in which one dose of rabies vaccine is administered on days 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28 after exposure. When using the 5-dose method, only 1 dose of rabies vaccine can be given at a time, not 2 doses at the same time. The second is the 211 vaccination program, i.e., 2 doses of rabies vaccine on the 0th day after exposure, and 1 dose of rabies vaccine on the 7th and 21st day respectively, which can shorten the time of the whole vaccination. Consult the professional staff of the vaccination organization for details.
