Usually a few days to recover after urinary catheter removal

The recovery time after urethral tube removal varies from person to person and is related to the type of surgery and the purpose of the urethral tube insertion. In the case of non-urethral surgery, the purpose is usually to prevent the inability to urinate normally after surgery. In this case, it is recommended that bladder function exercises be performed in a timely manner after surgery, and the urinary catheter can be removed once normal urination can take place. In the case of urinary system-related surgery, close attention should be paid to urination after the removal of the urinary catheter, and recovery is usually possible in about 1 week. Secondly, some patients may experience an inability to urinate and need to consider re-insertion of the urinary catheter. In the case of prostate and urethra surgery, the urethral tube insertion time will be relatively long, and it will take about 2-3 days to recover after the tube is removed. In addition, pay attention to drinking more water and urinating more after the catheter is removed, avoid holding urine for too long, and keep the local cleanliness and hygiene to avoid infection to promote recovery.
