Does gout cause neck pain?

Gout usually does not cause neck pain, but if the condition is not effectively controlled for a long period of time, as the disease progresses, the patient’s affected joints will gradually increase, and a few patients may experience neck pain.
Gout is a form of crystalline arthritis in which monosodium urate is deposited in the joints causing joint pain. Gout often occurs at night, with a rapid onset and rapid peak of intolerable pain. The skin temperature of the affected area is markedly elevated, localized redness and swelling, and tenderness is obvious.
Gout can involve any part of the body. Typical gout attacks mainly involve pain in the lower limbs, such as the big toe, heel, dorsum of the foot, ankle and knee. However, if the condition is not effectively controlled, as the disease progresses, the affected joints will gradually increase, and a few patients may experience cervical pain, commonly known as neck pain.
Neck pain in gout patients also needs to be identified in detail, because falling pillow, cervical spondylosis, trauma and other reasons can also lead to neck pain. It is recommended that patients go to a regular hospital, under the guidance of the doctor to identify the causes and standardized treatment.
