The turbinates are three long bony strips located in the lateral wall of the nasal cavity, called the inferior, middle, and superior turbinates, and in some people, the uppermost turbinate, arranged in a stepped pattern. The underside of each turbinate forms a fissure-like space with the lateral wall of the nasal cavity, called the inferior, middle, and superior nasal passages, respectively. The inferior turbinate bone is attached to the medial wall of the maxilla and the vertical plate of the palatine bone. The middle turbinate is part of the sieve bone and can be divided into a vertical and horizontal portion. The upper turbinate is located in the upper posterior portion of the lateral wall of the nasal cavity and is the smallest of the three turbinates. Nasal turbinates have the possibility of turbinate hypertrophy and other diseases, nasal congestion, runny nose and other symptoms need to go to the hospital in a timely manner, clear the cause of the disease to follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, avoid self-medication.
