Colonic hyperplastic polyp is a less malignant type of colonic polyp and is considered a benign lesion clinically.
Colonic hyperplastic polyps are mainly caused by colitis infection and long-term repeated irritation of the intestinal mucosa caused by abnormal proliferation. In the early stage, there are usually no clinical symptoms, only a change in bowel habits. As the polyps increase, patients may experience symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea and bloody stools.
Proliferative polyps usually do not require surgical treatment, but if the polyps are too large or have typical clinical symptoms, they need to be removed under colonoscopy, after which pathologic examination and regular review should be performed.
If you are diagnosed with hyperplastic polyp, it is recommended to consult a doctor for further management or treatment.
