Is it possible for CT to misdiagnose lung cancer?

CT may misdiagnose lung cancer. Often, most malignant tumors can be seen on chest CT with lobulated masses, burrs or the presence of enlarged hilar or mediastinal lymph nodes. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish lung cancer from some benign diseases, such as tuberculosis spheres or inflammatory pseudotumors, which have a similar morphology to lung cancer, and then the tuberculosis spheres or inflammatory pseudotumors may be misdiagnosed as lung cancer. Therefore, no matter how much it looks like lung cancer on CT, the pathological diagnosis is still needed in the end, and only when the pathological diagnosis of lung cancer is clear can anti-tumor treatment be given to the patient.
