Returning milk like a stone takes a few days to heal

The first three days of breastfeeding are usually the most uncomfortable time period, and the breasts may be swollen like a stone. During the process of breastfeeding, women’s breasts will appear swollen, mainly due to milk stagnation. During breastfeeding, milk will gradually decrease, not immediately, and a process is needed, so breast swelling will also gradually recover. If your breasts are swollen, you should firstly reduce the intake of water, drink less water, reduce soup diet, and focus on light food, which will help to reduce milk secretion; secondly, you can use a breast pump to suck out part of the milk, but do not suck it out completely to avoid stimulating the breasts and promoting milk secretion. Usually, the swollen breast will return to normal in about half a month. It should be noted that during the period of breastfeeding, if a woman’s breast swelling is too serious, she can promptly visit the obstetrics and gynecology department or breast surgery department for targeted standardized and correct treatment under the guidance of a professional doctor to reduce the discomfort.
