What does hpv51 mean?

HPV51 stands for human papillomavirus type 51, and it has been confirmed that persistent infection with high-risk HPV may cause cervical cancer. HPV is divided into high-risk and low-risk types, and low-risk types are divided into many types, while high-risk types are also divided into many types, and type 51 belongs to high-risk HPV infection. If HPV51 continues to be infected for a long time, it may cause cervical cancer, but it does not mean that HPV51 infection will cause cervical cancer, there are a series of conditions that cause cervical cancer. If cervical cancer screening indicates a positive cervical HPV51, it needs to be combined with cervical TCT and, if necessary, colposcopic biopsy to further assess whether cervical lesions are already present.
