When can you walk on your own after a femoral head replacement?

Patients who have had a femoral head replacement can basically return to walking on their own about two weeks after surgery. Most patients recover the ability to bear weight on the ground soon after the femoral head replacement. If a cemented femoral head prosthesis is used, then on the second day after surgery, if the patient is in good condition, he or she can attempt to walk on the ground. Of course, sometimes the recovery time is slower because of older age or more severe trauma, but after two weeks, the surgeon will also encourage regular walking on the ground for later functional exercises.
