Melanoma is a malignant tumor that is not contagious and does not lead to person-to-person transmission. Melanoma is highly malignant and tends to occur in areas subject to friction, such as the palms of the feet as well as the palms of the hands. Melanoma is mostly due to the further evolution of nevus nigricans. Melanoma is highly suspected when the nevus on the surface of the body is relatively flat, with an indistinct, burr-like border around it. If melanoma is suspected, it should be excised completely, at least 1-2 centimeters away from the nevus, and sent for pathological examination immediately after excision. If melanoma is suspected or confirmed by pathology, further surgery may be required, including more extensive excision, as well as possible amputation of the limb, or even immunotherapy at a later stage.
