What the three liver function tests include

Liver function tests are the three most common indicators in liver function tests, which are aminotransferase, bilirubin and globulin.
1. Transaminase: Transaminase includes alanine transaminase and glutamine transaminase, which normally exist in liver cells, with a normal value of 0~40U/L. If the index exceeds this value, it indicates that the liver function has been damaged, and the transaminase in the liver cells is released into the bloodstream.
2. Bilirubin: bilirubin is a substance produced by metabolism of human hemoglobin in the liver, and elevated bilirubin is seen in liver function injury and biliary tract obstruction caused by various reasons except hemolysis. The presence of hemolytic disease should also be considered, with increased release of hemoglobin, leading to elevated bilirubin.
3. Globulin: Globulin is a kind of protein produced by human body’s immune organs, and the normal globulin content is 20-30g/L. When the value of globulin is elevated, it suggests that the immune system in the body is hyperactive, and viral hepatitis, cirrhosis and other diseases may exist.
The three liver function tests are aminotransferases, bilirubin, and globulin, and it is recommended that the values be interpreted in conjunction with symptoms under the guidance of a physician.
