How long does it take to recover from a concussion

How long it takes to recover from a concussion cannot be generalized, but needs to be judged in conjunction with the severity of the patient’s concussion. The cause of concussions is mostly due to an external blow to the head or a collision to the head. After the trauma, the patient may experience a short period of impaired consciousness, which usually lasts about half an hour. Upon awakening, the patient cannot recall the exact course of the accident, but can still recall what happened before the accident. Thereafter, the patient may experience dizziness and headache, nausea and vomiting, inattention, and sometimes non-response. Some patients have transient elevated blood pressure, but normal respiratory and heart rates. Patients with mild concussions have a short duration of the above symptoms, mostly recovering completely in about 1-2 days, while patients with severe concussions can last 1-2 weeks or even longer. Patients with concussion need to be kept in the emergency room to closely observe the patient’s state of consciousness, pupil size, limb activity, vital signs, etc., so that secondary intracranial lesions can be detected as early as possible and disposed of in a timely manner.
