Sheng Nan Xing, or Raw Tennant Star, is effective in expelling wind and relieving spasm (treating symptoms such as spasm by dispersing wind), dispersing knots and swelling, and can be used to treat carbuncles and swellings, snake and insect bites.
Raw Tiannanxing is a traditional Chinese medicine that can be used raw externally to treat carbuncles and swellings, snake and insect bites, and can also be used for wind-phlegm dizziness, phlegm congestion in strokes, crooked mouth and eyes, hemiplegia (inability to move one side of the limbs at will), persistent phlegm and coughing, convulsive winds (a pediatric disease that is characterized by fainting, jerking, and convulsions), tetanus, and so on.
Externally, raw product in appropriate amount, powdered with vinegar or wine on the affected area.
Tannenbaum is poisonous, and the systemic reactions include dizziness, panic, numbness of the limbs, slow and uneven respiration at the beginning, and then paralysis, severe coma, asphyxia or convulsions, and finally respiratory paralysis to death. Poisoning of children has also led to neurointellectual developmental disorders. The skin is strongly irritated on contact, at first itching, then numbness. Toxicity can be reduced by concoction. Use with caution in pregnant women.
