The best corrected visual acuity in one or both eyes is lower than that of a normal child of the corresponding age, and there is no organic lesion in the eye examination, which is called amblyopia. Amblyopia in the patient’s eyes may be caused by strabismus, refractive error, refractive error, and visual deprivation, and so on.
1. Strabismus: Under normal conditions, both eyes can acquire external images through different angles, and the brain then integrates the acquired images to form a complete picture. If the patient has strabismus, the macular function of one eye will be inhibited for a long time, which may lead to amblyopia.
2. Refractive error: If the refractive degree of the two eyes is different, the clarity and size of the object received by the macular center of the two eyes are also different, which will easily lead to poor vision in one eye, and thus may induce amblyopia.
3. Refractive error: patients with high refractive error, especially those who have not worn corrective eyeglasses, are in a state of blurred vision, which may lead to amblyopia over time.
4. Morphological deprivation: Cataract, corneal leukoplakia and other diseases can lead to visual path blockage, because of the lack of morphologic stimulation, the macula can not form a clear object, which may lead to amblyopia.
It is recommended that patients with amblyopia should consult a doctor in a timely manner to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment to avoid delays.
