The examination of male infertility mainly includes the following four aspects: 1) semen test; 2) urethral discharge examination; 3) blood sampling for sex hormone test; 4) erectile dysfunction examination and scrotal ultrasound for abnormalities. For abnormal semen, the main tests are semen routine, sperm morphology and sperm acrosome enzyme activity, and the results of these three tests can generally be released on the same day. For sperm DNA fragmentation, if flow cytometry is used, the results can be obtained on the same day. If chromatin diffusion test is used, it will take about one week. For urethral discharge, the main tests are gonococcal, mycoplasma and chlamydia, and the results are available in about 3 days. There are also sex hormone tests, which analyze thyroid function, blood glucose, and blood lipids, and the results can be available in about 2-3 hours. For erectile function tests, such as the chemical prosthesis test, it usually takes 2-3 hours. If the scrotal ultrasound goes well, it can usually be done in ten minutes, but there are often more lines at the hospital and it may take longer, but most people can finish the same day.
