Is it glaucoma if the optic disc ratio is large?

Patient: Description of condition (onset, main symptoms, hospital visited, etc.): The child is 9 years old and has been wearing glasses since he was 4-5 years old, originally had a lot of tests, all said it was amblyopia caused by myopia and astigmatism, from last year suddenly said the optic disc ratio was large, asked to check the visual field, said the cooperation was poor. When I asked to check my mother’s visual field, I was told that her optic disc ratio was large and that it was not glaucoma. Is it glaucoma? Suspected glaucoma, can dilate the pupil vision? Guangzhou Children’s Hospital Ophthalmology Yan Lifeng: not necessarily glaucoma, simply cup large is not certain to be glaucoma, if the child can not cooperate in the examination of the visual field, you can measure the area along the disk and OCT to check the thickness of the optic nerve fibers to help diagnose. If there are really signs of glaucoma, you can also dilate the pupil, because most open-angle glaucoma, dilate the pupil will not affect its intraocular pressure.
