What are intrahepatic calcified spots?

Benign calcified plaques do not affect the patient and do not produce any symptoms, so there is no need to be too concerned about them or to take any special treatment for them. However, in some pathological cases, we still need to pay attention to it. In primary liver cancer, calcified metastasis in the liver is a special type of transformation of cancer. Liver parasitic diseases such as hepatic encysted cysts and hepatic schistosomiasis, the former will cause calcification of the cyst wall in most patients with hepatic encysted cysts and the latter will cause dystrophic calcification. Chronic inflammation and granulomas of the liver can also cause calcification of the liver. In addition, some tuberculosis and mycobacteria can also cause hepatic calcification. When doing an examination for intrahepatic calcification, we usually use ultrasound detection or CT examination. If calcification is present in the liver, it means that there is a localized problem of insufficient blood supply to the liver, which needs to be combined with liver function tests. If the liver function is normal, no specific treatment is needed.
