The indications for close observation of micropapillary thyroid cancer include: (1) non-pathological high-risk subtype; (2) tumor diameter ≤5 mm; (3) tumor located in the thyroid gland without perineural or peripheral tissue invasion; (4) no lymph node or distant metastasis; (5) no family history of thyroid cancer; (6) no history of adolescent or childhood neck radiation exposure; and (7) patients with low psychological stress and positive cooperation.
