Hirsutiespapillarisgenitalis, also known as pearl-like papulosis of the penis, coronal or glans papules, or by some scholars as hairy penis or multi-papillary penis. Most scholars now believe that this is a normal physiological variant, so there are no health consequences and no infection or transmission through sexual intercourse. The cause and incidence of pearly penile papules is not yet known. Some scholars believe that this condition is a physiological developmental abnormality. Some scholars also believe that it is related to circumcision. A survey found that the incidence of pearly papules on the penis was significantly higher in young men with circumcision than in those with normal circumcision. Other scholars believe that the condition may be related to HPV infection, but Ferenczy et al. and Zhang Kaijin et al. detected HPV in the lesion tissue and the results were free of HPV. the authors observed that the inflammatory reaction such as local redness and swelling caused by the patient’s long foreskin, poor local hygiene, long-term stimulation by coronal secretions and dirt or other factors such as infection may be the direct cause of the condition. Or the patient has the need for treatment, which can be done through three options: laser surgery, cryotherapy, and medication.
