Psoriasis Precautions

  Psoriasis is a common chronic skin disease characterized by the repeated appearance of multiple layers of silvery-white dry scales on erythematous patches. It is called “white H” in ancient Chinese medicine, and also known as pineal ringworm in ancient medical texts. Western medicine is called psoriasis, which is characterized by the appearance of papules of different sizes, erythematous plaques covered with silvery-white scales with clear borders, usually on the scalp, extensor surfaces of the limbs and back. It is more common in men than in women. Psoriasis is prone to recurrence or aggravation in spring and winter, while it is mostly relieved in summer and autumn.  In addition to actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment, psoriasis patients should pay attention to the following matters in daily life: 1. Hemolytic streptococcal infection is a predisposing factor for this disease, avoid the occurrence of colds, tonsillitis and pharyngitis as much as possible. Once it occurs, symptomatic treatment should be actively applied to avoid aggravating psoriasis.  2, eliminate mental tension factors, avoid excessive fatigue, pay attention to rest.  3.Living conditions should be dry, ventilated and convenient for bathing.  4.Wear clean and soft clothes, change underwear and bed sheets regularly to prevent skin infection.  5, avoid trauma, prevent scratching and strong stimulation, so as not to produce new lesions.  6, avoid wind and cold, prevent upper respiratory tract infection.  7.Bathing with warm water is recommended, and strong alkaline soap and shampoo are prohibited.  8, the diet is generally given to the general food, mainly light, less alcohol, do not eat food that can cause allergic reactions, such as seafood.  9, pay attention to dietary hygiene, prevent the occurrence of enteritis and other diseases.  10.Patients with pustular type should not rub the skin lesions to prevent erosion and secondary infection.  11, in the daily medication, antimalarial drugs, beta-blockers can trigger or aggravate the disease.  12, endocrine changes, pregnancy can trigger the disease and make it worse.  13.Eat more vitamin-rich foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables.  14.When cleaning the affected area, the action should be lightly rubbed, and do not forcefully peel off the skin flakes to avoid local infection, such as redness, swelling, heat and pain, which will affect the treatment and prolong the course of the disease.  15.After the clinical temporary healing of psoriasis, its immune function, microcirculation and metabolism are still not completely restored to normal, and it usually takes 2-3 months to recover. Therefore, after the clinical healing, that is, after the appearance of the lesions have completely receded, you should continue to take 2-3 courses of drugs for consolidation, so that the virus is cleared more thoroughly to avoid relapse.  16. In summer, you can expose the affected area to more sunlight, but not too strongly, which can easily burn the skin.
