Half of the hip neuralgia is mostly considered a form of sciatica, both primary and secondary. The exact cause of primary is unclear and may be related to wind, cold, or viral infection. If secondary is considered, the common cause is lumbar disc herniation, also seen as intramedullary tumor, and a lumbar spine MRI should be performed to clarify the diagnosis if necessary. For patients with primary sciatica, the main treatment is symptomatic pain relief, commonly used drugs include carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine and phenytoin sodium; at the same time, nerve-nourishing drugs such as vitamin B1, vitamin B6, adenosine cobalamin and methylcobalamin can be applied; at the same time, attention should also be paid to keeping warm and avoiding catching cold. If secondary neuralgia is considered, the main thing is to carry out etiological treatment, and also give nerve-nourishing as well as symptomatic pain relief treatment. Patients with lumbar disc herniation can undergo lumbar muscle massage therapy, traction therapy, and if necessary, surgery can be considered. If an intramedullary tumor is considered, surgical treatment or radiation therapy should be given in general.
