Is there a relationship between high blood pressure and myocardial ischemia?

Atherosclerosis progresses to a higher degree in patients with high blood pressure, so high blood pressure often coexists with myocardial ischemia. Studies of myocardial ischemia have found it to be associated with a variety of factors, including age, gender, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and high body weight as risk factors. Alterations in the circadian rhythm of hypertension can promote left ventricular hypertrophy, which indirectly contributes to the development of myocardial ischemia. Coronary artery disease type myocardial ischemia is the most common type of myocardial ischemia. Coronary artery disease is closely related to hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia and so on, so patients with hypertension need to actively control their blood pressure, to prevent the function of the cardiac target organs or organic damage. For hypertensive patients with myocardial ischemia on ECG, further coronary imaging is recommended to clarify the degree of coronary artery stenosis.
