What is the risk of a 6mm nodule in the lung?

Nodules 6mm in the lungs are at low risk and are generally unlikely to be malignant. Nodules over 1cm in the lungs have a tendency to become malignant, and nodules less than 1cm in the lungs are unlikely to become malignant. So for a 6mm nodule in the lung, just follow up regularly. At first, we should check the chest CT once every three months; if there is no change in three months, then once every six months; if there is no change in six months, then once every year; and then once every year. If the nodule remains unchanged during the follow-up, there is no need to be nervous; if the nodule gradually increases in size during the follow-up, further examination or lung puncture or surgical resection of the nodule is needed to determine the nature of the nodule by further pathologic examination.
