The problem of bags under the eyes is very common, many young people in their 30s have some degree of bags under their eyes, so let’s take a look at how bags are formed, knowing how they are created, and accordingly we adopt appropriate methods to repair and rejuvenate them. The lower eyelid is roughly divided into three layers: the superficial layer is the skin and its deeper surface orbicularis oculi The middle layer is the orbital septum The deeper layer is the conjunctiva, capsulopalpebral fascia, the inferior tarsal muscle and the lid plate Well, with age As we get older, a key structure —- orbital septum becomes more and more lax and can no longer block the fat behind the orbital septum, then the fat inside the septum protrudes outward, protruding the orbital septum and the surface muscles and skin, forming what is called an under-eye bag. As in the picture above, when the orbital septum is lax, the fat can’t be controlled, and the fat protrudes and forms bags under the eyes. The more the fat protrudes, the bigger the bags under the eyes. Of course, the obvious bags under the eyes are related to another structure, which is the tear trough, and there is a ligament called the orbicularis support ligament on the deep side of the tear trough (see Figure 1 and Figure 2). Well, these two factors, orbital septal laxity and strong orbicularis support ligament, mainly contribute to the appearance of bags under the eyes, i.e., bags protruding outward, while the skin at the tear trough is torn by the orbicularis support ligament to death, and generally speaking, the larger the bags, the deeper the tear trough. So, now that we understand the causes of under-eye bags, the corresponding surgical procedures are well understood. There are two types of eye bag surgery, one is the internal cut and the other is the external cut.
