What are the chances of spreading hand, foot and mouth disease

HFMD has a high transmission rate, with susceptible children having an almost 90% or higher chance of being infected. HFMD is an enterovirus infection, and there are three main types of viruses that cause the disease, namely coxsackie group A virus, echovirus partial serotype, and enterovirus type EV71, of which the virus that can cause severe HFMD is enterovirus type 71. The HFMD vaccine mainly prevents this type, while other types cannot be prevented. There is no cross-immunity between various HFMD viruses, so contact with uninfected or unvaccinated types can be easily transmitted. There are several ways of transmission: respiratory droplet transmission; gastrointestinal transmission, such as saliva, feces; skin contact, such as herpes, and contamination of children’s toys, clothing, and handkerchiefs with herpes fluid after the rupture of herpes, can transmit this virus.
