Survival for patients with follicular lymphoma grade 3b varies from person to person and is related to a number of factors, including the rate of disease progression and the efficacy of treatment, with a median survival of about 18 years.
Follicular lymphoma is a type of inert non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. “Inert” means that follicular lymphoma progresses at a relatively slow rate, and the survival of patients is longer than that of more aggressive lymphomas, such as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, and Burkitt’s lymphoma.
The median survival of follicular lymphoma with better therapeutic efficacy, slower progression, and earlier disease staging can reach about 18 years, but patients with stage IIIb follicular lymphoma have relatively later staging, and their median survival may be relatively shorter.
It is recommended that the patient should consult the hematology department in time, complete the relevant examinations to evaluate the condition, and formulate individualized treatment plan under the guidance of physicians to actively treat the specific condition, including cyclophosphamide, vincristine, rituximab and so on.
