The dangers of corneal lacerations

Patients who develop corneal lacerations may experience uncomfortable symptoms such as tearing of the eyes, pain, loss of vision, and even blindness. In simple corneal laceration, if the wound is small and regular in shape, the patient may experience discomfort and irritation symptoms such as mild tearing and pain, which may be accompanied by mild vision loss, but the wound can often heal gradually and the discomfort symptoms can be gradually relieved. If the patient has a complex corneal laceration, the corneal wound is large and irregular in shape, accompanied by iris inlay, detachment or lens rupture as well as damage to the posterior segment of the eye, the patient may experience more pronounced tearing, eye pain and other discomforts, and the patient may also experience a significant loss of vision, or even blindness. It is recommended that patients with corneal laceration should seek prompt medical attention to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
