Chrysanthemum is commonly found in yellow chrysanthemum, white chrysanthemum and wild chrysanthemum varieties. Among them, yellow and white chrysanthemums have the efficacy of dispersing wind-heat, calming liver-yang, clearing liver and improving eyesight (clearing liver fire to promote vision recovery), and clearing heat and removing toxins (clearing heat and toxins in the body); and wild chrysanthemum has the efficacy of clearing heat and removing toxins and calming the liver by laxative fire. Wild Chrysanthemum is bitter, pungent and slightly cold in nature. It belongs to the liver and heart meridians. Yellow chrysanthemum is suitable for evacuating wind-heat, while white chrysanthemum is suitable for calming the liver, clearing the liver and improving eyesight. Note that chrysanthemum flowers are cold in nature and should not be taken by people with weak spleen and stomach, diarrhea and soft stools.
