There is no such thing as which is more serious, a ground glass nodule or a normal nodule in the lungs. It mainly depends on the nature of the nodule and the degree of risk of malignancy to decide. Patients are advised to visit the hospital in time to clarify the nature of the nodules and determine the risk of cancer. Lung nodules can be categorized into solid lung nodules and sub-solid lung nodules according to the density classification of the nodules. Sub-solid nodules include pure ground glass nodules and partially solid nodules. Thin-section CT is the mainstay for pulmonary ground-glass nodules. Both solid and sub-solid lung nodules have the potential for malignant lung nodules. So the judgment of which nodule is more serious is mainly based on the benign or malignant nature of the nodule. Patients are recommended to improve chest X-ray, chest CT scan, positron emission tomography, tumor marker test, tuberculin skin test and other tests to clarify the diagnosis.
