True strabismus in 2-year-olds is usually due to the non-parallelism of the binocular axis and cannot recover on its own. Pseudostrabismus is common in cases of pseudo-intraocular strabismus, mainly due to the inner canthus. As the child grows older and the nasal bridge gradually becomes higher, this condition can be improved and no special treatment is needed. If the strabismus is a true strabismus, it is mostly related to refractive error. The child needs to undergo dilated eye examinations and wear glasses of the right prescription regularly so that the patient can achieve a normal eye position and thus correct the strabismus. In addition, most other types of strabismus require surgical treatment, which can be performed according to the individual’s strabismus degree and situation.
