What does stage IV lung cancer mean?

Stage IV lung cancer is the advanced stage of lung cancer, and patients generally have poor prognosis and shorter survival period. Patients with stage IV lung cancer mainly show cough, sputum, chest tightness and shortness of breath. Patients with brain metastasis may experience dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting and limitation of movement of one limb. Patients with advanced lung cancer are treated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy and traditional Chinese medicine, etc. In case of lung cancer brain metastasis, it is recommended to choose whole brain radiotherapy; in case of lung cancer bone metastasis, local radiotherapy can be chosen, while zoledronic acid is given to inhibit bone destruction and prevent fracture to reduce patients’ pain.
