What to do if you have a low lymphocyte ratio

Low lymphocyte ratio may be caused by bacterial infection, immunodeficiency diseases, malignant blood system diseases, etc. It needs to be treated according to the specific causes, which are analyzed as follows:
1. Bacterial infection: the absolute value of leukocytes may be increased due to bacterial infection, resulting in low ratio. Clinically, it is usually an acute infection, which needs to be treated with antibiotics and supplemented with general treatments such as hydration and bed rest.
2. Immunodeficiency diseases: Gammaglobulin deficiency, immune hemolytic anemia and other diseases are prone to low lymphocyte ratio, which can be treated by injection of immunoglobulin, blood transfusion to correct anemia and other methods.
3. Malignant hematologic diseases: myeloproliferative neoplasms and chronic myeloid leukemia are also susceptible to low lymphocyte ratios due to increased leukocytes. For myeloproliferative neoplasms and chronic myeloid leukemia, hydroxyurea, interferon, imatinib or dasatinib can be used for treatment.
If a patient has a low lymphocyte ratio during a physical examination, he or she needs to consult a doctor in time and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of a physician to avoid delaying the condition.
