Characteristics of young people with gastric cancer

  Tumor malignancy is high Among young people with gastric cancer, mucinous adenocarcinoma, which is the most malignant, accounts for 50% to 60%, and this ratio is three to six times higher than that of the elderly. Among gastric cancer patients younger than 20 years old, the proportion of mucinous adenocarcinoma is more than 80%. Data show that the rate of ovarian metastasis among young women with gastric cancer is as high as 14%, and many patients come to the hospital for ovarian tumor reasons.  High misdiagnosis and poor prognosis From the time young patients come to the hospital with discomfort to the time they are diagnosed with gastric cancer, it takes 3 to 14 months, and the misdiagnosis rate is as high as 65.7%. Due to late diagnosis and high malignancy of tumor, the surgical resection rate is only 22%-24.6%, and the five-year survival rate is only 12.4%-15.7%. Experts suggest that people with weakness, anemia and bleeding in stool; frequent abdominal pain and vomiting; abdominal lumps; family history of gastric cancer: if parents or immediate family members have a history of gastric cancer, they must go for examination in time if they have the above abnormal symptoms.
