What about high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia?

High-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, a more advanced form of precancerous lesions of the female cervix, is often referred to as a more serious condition. If this lesion, is detected by cytology, the patient is advised to undergo colposcopy. A colposcopic biopsy will be taken and sent for pathology, and based on the results of the pathology report, a decision will be made as to whether or not Lipstick surgery is required. If a Lipstick procedure is required, a conization with a basal patching is performed, followed by re-examination. If the pathology results are negative for margins, follow up is sufficient. If the margins are still positive, the patient is advised to undergo hysterectomy to prevent the cancer from deepening.
