The presence of blood in the leukorrhea a few days after menstruation is considered to be related to normal menstrual blood, ovulation bleeding, and organic diseases. 1. Normal menstrual blood: If the blood in the leukorrhea occurs 2~3 days after the end of menstruation, it is considered to be a small amount of menstrual blood left in the uterine cavity, which usually lasts for 1~2 days and will be relieved on its own. 2. Ovulation bleeding: if the blood in the leukorrhea occurs in 7~8 days after the end of menstruation, it may be ovulation bleeding, due to the decrease of estrogen level in the body after ovulation, which leads to irregular stripping of the uterine endometrium and the appearance of blood in the leukorrhea, and the symptom can be relieved by itself in 2~3 days. 3. Organic Diseases (1) Polyps: patients with endometrial polyps or cervical polyps mainly show clinical manifestations of irregular vaginal bleeding, sometimes with blood in the leukorrhea. (2) Uterine fibroids and adenomyomas: as uterine fibroids and adenomyomas will lead to increase in uterine size and endometrial area, so there will be an increase in the amount of menstruation, prolongation of menstruation, and leucorrhoea with blood and so on. (3) Malignant diseases: For patients with cervical cancer and endometrial cancer, if the cancerous tissues invade the local blood vessels, it may lead to irregular or continuous vaginal bleeding. For patients who have blood in leukorrhea a few days after menstruation, they should go to gynecology department of regular hospitals to improve ultrasound and other related examinations, and then take active treatment under doctors’ guidance after clarifying the cause of the disease.
