It is not necessary to have a regular bowel movement in normal life. If the patient goes to the toilet when the urge to defecate has not yet appeared, the normal defecation reflex will not necessarily appear, and the normal defecation reflex will be reduced due to prolonged squatting. It is recommended to go to the toilet as soon as the urge to defecate appears and to defecate at any time to avoid holding the stool, in addition to reducing the duration of defecation. Due to individual differences, some people may have 1 bowel movement in 2 days. As long as the bowel movement is soft and smooth, it can be considered normal. If the stool is dry or does not pass stool for more than 3 days, it is an abnormal phenomenon and it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination and treatment.
