Post-operative rehabilitation of the Achilles tendon

After a patient has developed an Achilles tendon lesion, especially after a complete rupture of the Achilles tendon has occurred, surgical treatment is taken. Early, correct and scientific post-operative rehabilitation is needed to help the recovery of the Achilles tendon. The specific recovery method is, firstly, the patient can be instructed to take a supine position, and then perform isometric contraction exercises of both lower limbs to prevent deep vein thrombosis and muscle atrophy. Secondly, the patient can be instructed to do plantar flexion and dorsiflexion exercises to move the ankle joint, which can effectively prevent joint adhesions and tendon adhesions. Once again, the patient can be instructed to take a supine position and then lift up as much as possible to do the bicycle movement. This can strengthen the calf muscle exercise, which can relieve the adhesion of Achilles tendon after surgery, and also can prevent muscle atrophy, which can increase muscle strength.
