Xiao Hai acupoint belongs to the Small Intestine Meridian of the Sun of the Hand. It is located in the posterior elbow area, slightly bent elbow, flush with the transverse line of the elbow fossa between the ulnar eagle’s beak and the medial epicondyle of the humerus. It has the effects of clearing the mind and tranquilizing the spirit, clearing heat and inducing diuresis, subduing swelling and relieving pain. It is mainly used for treating elbow and arm pain, numbness and epilepsy.
Xiaohai acupoint for arm pain can be paired with Handsanli, Quchi, and Brachycephalic, etc. For epilepsy, it can be paired with Quchi, Shaohai, Mianzhi, Yangxi, and Yanggu acupoints; and for epilepsy, it can be paired with Daxi, Fengchi, and Baihui.
